Risen Lord,
we give thanks that we can gather
to celebrate your risen life.
We give you thanks
that this year we can sing,
have wine as well as bread,
and have hot cross buns and tea
and time with friends,
after the service.
We give you thanks
that we are safe in our homes,
that our church is open,
and that we can celebrate Easter together.
We pray for the world you made,
thanking you for signs of new life and hope:
Amidst our Easter joy,
we remember those who still suffer,
and those who still grieve,
the people of Ukraine
the mounting famine in Africa,
all who have left their homes behind to find safety,
those whose churches are closed this year,
.
We give thanks for our NHS,
praying for those whose appointments
or surgery have been cancelled:
for hospitals and GP surgeries
struggling with staff shortages:
for all who tend those who are ill:
we pray for those who will, today
be with you in paradise
and for those who will miss them.
Risen Lord Jesus,
on this, Easter day,
may the wonder of your resurrection
dawn in in our hearts
and take root in our lives,
quietly, steadily, and with love.
