Intercessions Proper 19 Year An

God whose love is boundless,

Who looks on us with tenderness and love

we bring to you the world you made;

our home – a place of beauty but of trouble and sorrow.

We pray for the people Morocco and of Libya,

facing terrible hardship:

for all who are subject to natural disaster

or to neglect, violence and pain inflicted by fellow humans.

Hear the cries of all who call to you in distress,

and hear our prayers today.

We pray for your church:

forgive our past failings,

our neglect of the vulnerable,

our failure to listen to those who are victims of abuse.

Help us to be a place of welcome, integrity, and kindness,

a place of safety and care.

Hear us when we bring our sins to you,

and help us to forgive as you forgive us.

We pray for all who are ill or in distress,

especially we bring to you …

and others we know

We pray for those who have died…

for those who mourn,

We pray for people who struggle to forgive,

especially those who have experienced terrible trauma in their life,

or the life  of their family.

We pray for divided families,

for all places were grudges grow and fester,

or where forgiveness is a hard thing to ask.

We give you thanks for the blessings we enjoy;

for our homes, our loved ones,

for food and warmth,

for the beauty of the end of summer –

for flying geese, bees and butterflies hungry for pollen,

for sunny days and dewy mornings.

For all your blessings,

And for your great love for each of us

we give you thanks.

Amen.
